Tracto Stahlbau from Lennestadt-Saalhausen in the Sauerland region of Germany specialises in clutches and brake systems for coal mining. The constantly increasing demands of the industry in terms of time, quality and flexibility prompted the company to optimise its quality management in 2011 by introducing ConSense IMS. "Our goal was to make all processes in the company even more transparent, thus permanently increasing customer satisfaction and further improving our productivity," explains quality management representative Manfred Graf. The flexible and modular structure, the simple process modelling, uncomplicated processing options and the proximity to standard Office products convinced those responsible at Tracto Stahlbau.
A successive implementation of the document management system gradually accustomed the employees to using the new system and led to a high level of acceptance within the company. Central tasks of the integrated management system now include support for the various standards and guidelines to which production at Tracto Stahlbau is subject. In addition to the quality management standard ISO 9001, these include a number of other industry-specific standards and directives, including the so-called ATEX Directive 94/9/EC of the European Union, which applies to equipment and systems in potentially explosive atmospheres.
